Christmas Party at my Cousins! :)

Hey there! I hope you had a great Christmas with your families! I know I did. The weather was supposed to be awful but it held off long enough for my family and I to get together and celebrate so I was very thankful for that :) Anyways my cousins threw a Christmas party at their house and I wanted to share the details of my outfit with you I'll also post about my Christmas

I  wanted to keep my outfit casual but chic and nothing says chic more than black on black! besides my monthly friend was visiting so the idea of something curve accentuating and slinky was just too much too handle lol My leggings are from Juicy Couture and my long sleeve is from Old Navy.

My scarf is from Kohl's and its in a casual chic pashmina knot, super simple to do but looks intricate

my heels are from Private Gallery and I love them so much I wish I would have got them in red and blue too!

lovee the studs on the back!

My hand candy is minted by Revlon and my lavender snake ring is from Charlotte Russe

And whats a photo op without my sweet bijou Minnie Mouse<3

Pimento cheese celery sticks, super easy and a healthy alternative to chips and dip

another simple finger food, already prepared spinach dip poured into a hulled out bread bowl cheap easy and so yummy!

Shit on a shingle or SOS is probably the most delicious finger food I've ever had! I think I had about five I mean there is no way you can only have one! This batch was made with ground turkey in a cheese sauce on slices of pumpernickel bread but it is usually made with beef in a cheese like sauce on toast I would put up the exact recipe but I dont know anymore about it then it including those two ingredients because I had to make sure it was alright for me to eat.

Well thats all for this post and for good reason too, my internet connection is driving me up the wall right now! All I can say is I'm glad this is just a hobby right now and not a job or I would be SO fired because of missed deadlines lol.  I'm trying to get it fixed but so far it just keeps cutting off and my stress level just keeps rising, I literally have a sore throat from screaming so much. Anyways wishing you a happy and stress free day! I'm going to go try to calm down with a cup of tea, until next time! :) xoxo EM

Yesterday's Outfit and My Favorite Holiday Outfit Ideas :)

Hey y'all I hope you've had a good weekend so far, despite the hustle and bustle of the pre Christmas madness happening right now.. have you seen the traffic?! Soo crazy! Anyways I went with my dad to Pensacola yesterday to run some last minute errands and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to do an outfit of the day post! :)

I was going for a chic sleek look so I wore all black and added a neutral pop of color to break it up some. My faux leather jacket is from Forever 21 I bought it about two years ago but its kind of thick so I don't get to wear it often. The top I've had forever is from Express, my leggings are by Jessica Simpson but I found them at TjMaxx for $20!

My pashmina scarf is from Kohls, they're regularly $20 but it was on sale for $12 :)

Shoes are by Penny Loves Kenny found at Ross for $20

My ring is from Versona on clearance for $3 and  for my nails I just took one of my old bottles of clear coat or top coat and poured some Martha Stewart glitter (Michaels $5) into the bottle, shook it up and voila! You have customized glittery nail polish! :)

And now I'll show you some of my favorite ideas for holiday looks :)

Okay I love sequins! They have to be my favorite details in fashion next to feminine bows. This outfit would be perfect for that Christmas party you got invited to tonight, its dressy and feminine but the shorts also give it a casual look making it just the right combination for a holiday get together with friends or even co workers. Also cute with flats if you're wanting an even more casual look! Tip: when wearing a neck tie blouse like the one of above let the bow be your necklace, just pair your the outfit with a pair of chandelier earrings and a cocktail ring and that's all the bling you need! :)

Another option for a Christmas party, its a little more dressy than the one above but still appropriate for any type of get together.  I love the look of a flowy blouse paired with a fitted mini skirt, it has such a flirty feel to it just add sequins and it becomes flirty and festive! Tip: When doing a statement necklace like the one above let that be your main accessory, but if you're like me and LOVEE wearing more than one accessory with your outfit, try adding a pretty cocktail ring and you'll be good to go!

Ugh oh my gosh how great are these gold sequined leggings?! This is a cute look for either a Christmas party or a new years eve party, its dressy with the sequins but still has a casual feel to it because of the peplum top which is really in right now. I know this might be a daring look for some and some of you might be thinking Oh Lord she has gone sequin psycho! (haha) But its a celebration of a new year, why not trying something.. new? :) Tip: when sporting sequined leggings try to keep your top plain so the outfit doesn't look too wild.

And I saved the best for last.. I am so in love with this entire outfit I just wish I had the money to go somewhere this year to celebrate! (and to buy the outfit). This amazing dress is from H&M for only $15 umm hello? Thats a steal! Of course they dont have my size and I'm broke (twisting the knife a little more) but its still nice to dream. This is the perfect dress to me for New Year's its sequined ( the definition of new years eve attire) and it reminds me of fireworks! It is sleeveless so I added a navy tuxedo style blazer (newlook.com, $41)  into the mix and kept it pretty simple on the earrings which I'm not going to state the price of (I did say dream) chose a unique cocktail ring (banana republic, $45) the statement necklace I chose is my favorite style of necklaces right now its called a beaten cuff and its just a stunning piece of jewelry to me (theiconic.com.au, $63). The clutch (Reiss Yasmin, $180)  is a little pricey but I love the abstract embellishments. The shoes are wayy out of my price range but I loved the color with the outfit (Alexandre Birman, $560) plus its hard to find affordable cute shoes on polyvore lol

Alright so I don't know about you but I love Christmas so much that I not only pick out the outfits I'm going to wear to church and our family dinner but I also pick out the outfit I'm going to wear Christmas Morning! Yes I know I'm weird but hey I like looking cute when I'm opening presents, I always have because it only comes once a year so why not go all out? besides there's always pictures being taken so why not celebrate in style :) I usually wear black leggings and a red or grey over-sized sweater with my uggs and Santa hat  but this year I might try something different so I decided to put together a few outfit ideas to think about. This might seem silly to some of you but this is part of my Christmas eve-day routine, after I get back from church I help my mom get the food ready for the next day then I pick out the outfits I'm going to where the next day and then I fall asleep to How the Grinch stole Christmas it has been my routine since middle school and it will continue to be my routine until I'm old and grey lol Let me know if any of you do this too, I think its a fun a stylish way to celebrate the holiday but I could just be a party of one on this haha Thank you so much for reading guys! I probably wont blog anymore before Christmas so I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza whatever it may be that you celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful one with your families and loved ones!  P.s: check back for the outfits I chose to wear on Christmas Eve/Day!
XOXO Em<3

Christmas Time at the Beau Rivage :)

Hey guys! I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was pretty fun minus being bedridden Saturday night and all Sunday, don't you just love being a girl?! Ahh anyways I went with my family to the Beau Rivage hotel Resort and Casino in Biloxi Mississippi and it was so nice to get away from home for a night. I've been to the beau many times but I've never been during Christmas. It was gorgeous, hues of bright blue, silvery white and red flooded the walk ways of the hotel, large nutcrackers and ornaments adorned the corners it was so beautiful and dreamy all that was missing was the falling snow.

poinsettias everywhere!

We also got tickets to a Christmas on Ice show with ice skating and Christmas music which was fantastic! We didnt have the best seats in the house but hey the tickets were free so I'm not complaining! Here are some pictures from the show, mind you the seats weren't great so i couldn't get close ups of the skaters.

The Nutcracker!

These two were phenomenal!

They were hilarious!!

Sugar plum fairies lol

After the show we got dinner at the buffet were they literally have a little bit of everything for everyone but my favorite part is the desserts!

double chocolate cheesecake, chocolate drizzled brownie and an adorable serving of banana pudding with meringue topping I licked the plate clean lol

And dont get me started on the stores! I've been visiting this place for years and I had no idea about how awesome the merchandise was! They had Michael Kors bags and clothing as well as Black Halo, Red Valentino and tons more!

New Concept for My Closet Sale!! and a little catching up on my life

Hey guys! I hope your week  is being good to you! So if you follow me on instagram or twitter or youre friends with me on facebook, you saw that I was getting ready to have another closet sale but that I was going to be trying a new concept. Well I finally added the finishing touches last night and I am excited to share with you my very own online store!

Introducing my online store, Second Hand Glam! :)
Okay.. so I'm using a another website to host it so its not my own domain or website from scratch but it does have a name that I created on the site and in the url address as well so basically its mine! :p Anyways I recently discovered a website called StorEnvy which if you havent heard of it, is pretty much the love child of ebay and etsy. Its very similar to both yet not the same because unlike etsy where everything sold is homemade or hand crafted, you can also sell things that youve worn or even items that youve purchased for the sole purpose of reselling them for a higher profit. The only thing about storenvy is that its not as widely known or as popular as ebay or etsy which doesnt bother me because I have an exclusive (exclusive meaning local) group that buys from me so I dont need a lot of advertisement or a larger audience so to speak, I just need a place to keep everything organized and easy way to ship to those friends who are not local. Ahh me and my rambling I'm sorry lol Any who thats my big announcement, its up and running and ready for you to shop :)

Now onto the harder not so exciting part...

I have been keeping something to myself for awhile because one, I cant help but feel embarrassed and two I try not to expose every detail of my life online but this is something that is affecting my blogging performance and future posts I had planned to keep consistent so it has to be said. I recently got let go of from CK Collection and haven't been able to find work since. Now I know I speak for everyone when I say no matter how you lose a job whether it be from being laid off or because of something you did wrong, it still leaves you feeling embarrassed distraught and hopeless. I may not have done anything wrong but I am still experiencing the shame and embarrassment of being suddenly unemployed especially right before the holidays.

So thats why I havent posted about shopping hauls and I wont be able to until I find a new job, and its also why I havent done any what I'm wearing posts in a while because I dont have the money to go places like I used to. I am having to save every penny I've got so clubbing, going shopping, lunch with the girlfriends etc has to happen far and few between right now. I have been able to do the bare minimum such as birthday parties because well that's a given, they're my friends and no matter what happens I'm always going to be there for them. That also brings me to the blog giveaways I'm dying to do and the gifts I promised to give to those who have been so kind to leave me supportive comments on my posts. I wont be able to do those until I find a source of income and I have no idea when that will be sadly :(

So yeah probably the most depressing post yet but I had to let you guys know why my blog has been so impersonal lately and why I havent done any blog giveaways or gifts, I just cant afford it right now.
However I am staying at the Beau Rivage this weekend because my mom has free rooms so I will post about our mini getaway but as for the outfits and shopping posts, there wont be many if any for awhile I'm sorry guys but as always thank you so much for reading, I very much appreciate it and your support. Please feel free to go check out my store, http://secondhandglam.storenvy.com/. I'm hoping in time to extend it to selling unique things I find in thrift stores or something like that but for now its just stuff from my closet some new things and some old but all gently used I promise you, I'm not like Plato's Closet lol wishing you guys a great weekend and happy shopping! :) xoxoEm

Designer Trends for less :)

Hey guys! I hope your week went well! I'm pretty sure this is the longest I've gone without posting so far and I'm not proud I'm just so bad at managing my time! Anyways fall and winter always have some of the best trends to offer but sometimes its hard to afford or even find the trends so I did a little research and found some affordable alternatives for you :)

Faux Fur Vest

Despite the weather cooperating around here, one of the hottest trends right now are fur vests. Now if you're thinking what I think you're thinking no worries faux is also fabulous. The one on the left is Michael Kors' Funnel Neck Gilet fur vest for $546 and the one on the right is Bisou Bisou faux fur vest from JcPenney's for only $50.

Classic Trench Coat

Trench coats are a cold weather trend that will never go out of style, no matter how unique they become they will always be a classic. On the left is Burberry's version for $1,995 and on the right is Gap's for $88 which might be a little pricey but its way better than spending a grand plus its a classic! :)

Plaid

I've never been a huge fan of plaid but that doesnt mean I'm going to leave it out. The one on the left is
A.L.C. Joni Checked Wool Sweater for $395 and the one on the right is the affordable version from Forever 21 for $19.80.

Leather Leggings

Ahh one of my favorite trends this season leather leggings!! I actually have a pair from forever 21 they were only $10 but I would honestly invest in a pair that doesnt stretch out after wearing them once. The pair on the left is from Victoria Beckham's line for pretty price of $1,500 however the pair on the right is from Top Shop for $76 I cant tell the difference between can you?

Harness

Ahh well this trend is definitely not a traditional or classic one but it was featured on this year's fall runways of several major fashion designers and although it may be a little harsh on the eyes it is absolutely intriguing to the imagination. The one on the left is by Herve Leger for $1,400 and the kinder version on the right is from Asos for $32.23

Jumpsuits

I love jumpsuits I've been wearing them for years because they're so comfy! They are a pain to go the to bathroom in but all in all they're fabulous and I'm glad its finally a trend. The suit on the left is by Michael Kors for $1,995 and the suit on the right is from Forever 21 for only $32.80

Masculine

Another trend that's arising is the masculine style which you can find in cardigans, blazers trousers and outerwear. I personally adore this look and I love this tuxedo style color block blazer. You can find the one on the left at Bloomingdale's for $103 or you can get the one on the left at Forever 21 for $37.80

let me know which trends are your fave for this season and if you find them for even better deals let me know that too I'd love to hear about your opinions! Thanks for reading guys and I hope you a great weekend :) xoxoEm

Hey everyone! I hope your week is going well! I'm sure you've heard about Neiman Marcus and twenty four of its designers teaming up with Target to bring a little designer style to you this holiday season, but I thought I'd show you all the neat items you'll find. Some I really love and some I'm kind of disappointed by I felt like some of the designers could have been a little less creative and a little more traditional, also some of the prices aren't exactly amazing in fact to me they aren't even great but hey to each is own. Anyways lets just get started! :)

wrapping paper: $7.99, ornament: $19.99

Well that wraps it up for all the goodies (get it? wraps? hah). Like I said, some of the prices are a bit ridiculous. I mean I love all things designer but I'm certainly not going to pay $70 for a little pouch just because its Marc Jacobs. I do however love the Tory Burch lunch box and that wrapping paper by Rodarte is just awesome and a great price! So I'm glad some of the designers decided to be a little more generous with their prices (thank you for thinking of us aspiring fashionistas who dream of designer!) Anyways you will be able to find all these beautiful items starting December 1st although I'm not sure if they will be in stores or online only but I have a feeling they'll be available in both lol Hopefully this was helpful and insightful to you guys I wasnt sure if I should post it but I kind of enjoyed writing this one :) Thank you so much for reading I promise you guys I will know my appreciation soon! Wishing you guys a wonderful weekend blog you later ;) xoxoEm
