Updating my Bathroom

Hey Everyone! I hope you're having a great week. I certainly am, fall is finally here Christmas is in two months and oh! I finally got around to re doing my bathroom! I wasnt happy with the hot pink and black look I had going on. The color was so harsh especially when I would apply my make up it just would never look right ya know? Anyways I have been saving up to re do my bathroom for quite some time but i just couldn't decide what I wanted to do until today I was shopping at Ross and found these beautiful chocolate brown bathroom pieces with accents of a gold mosaic print and I fell in love! I knew then exactly how I wanted to decorate it, chocolate brown with gold accents so happy with how it turned out :)

Photobucket the bathroom pieces I found at Ross, the soap dispenser was $5.99 and the toothbrush holder was $4.99 such a good deal!

Found these decorative balls at Ross as well a set of three was $6.99 and the heart shaped bowl was $8.99

found two large chocolate brown towels for $5.99 each and the little towels we already had around the house

fell in love with the rose detail on this shower curtain, Ross for $8.99

Decided to use this as an accent rug to break up all the brown it also plays off the rose detail on the shower curtain really well, Ross for $6.99

I found this beauty at Hobby lobby for $59 with 50% off so $32, also finding my theme! Its a little cliche I know but I decided on Paris as my theme and i'm very happy with my decision!

I wanted one of these the moment I decided to re do my bathroom and I found the perfect one at Hobby lobby for $29.99 with 50% off so $16

 view of the sink

So there's my bathroom redo I'm so happy with the outcome! Thanks for reading let me know what you think by commenting below if you want questions comments concerns are all welcome! Hope ya'll have a great weekend :) xoEm

Mini Gettaway With The Family To The Wind Creek Casino :)

Photobucket Hey ya'll! I hope your weekends went well! Mine certainly did :) I went with my family to the Wind Creek Hotel and Casino in Atmore Alabama. I have to say I was a little skeptical about going just because Atmore isn't exactly the city that never sleeps, there's not much going on and if you're passing through hoping to find a mall you will be very disappointed and possibly out of gas.. trust me, I've been there lol Anyways we were only able to stay one night because we all had to work but it was still very nice and enjoyable. We left the house around 1:30, dropped off my Yorkie, Minnie at my aunts house in Loxely and arrived at the hotel around 3. Its only about and hour or so away from our house but it was just nice to getaway from the norm for the night, sometimes you just need to get away ya know? Even if its only an hour away and for 24 hours. When we got to our room I was surprised to see how nice the rooms were. The walls were covered in dark wood paneling and the floors were the color of my overnight bag. The bathroom was quite inviting, it had a glassed in shower accompanied by stone walls and that soft lighting that makes you look like a million bucks. The accent chairs were a really pretty soft lime green and positioned by the window. The beds were perfectly pressed and dressed with plush white duvets topped off with three white fluffy pillows and to make it even better, we were on the seventh floor overlooking the pool. Of course the first thing I did was put my stuff down and jumped into the bed for a mid evening nap.

Photobucket
While the rents are away the fashionista will play! lol well read, Harper's Bazaar is one of my favorites :)

Photobucket The perfect little area to get ready for a night of dinner drinks and gambling! :)

Photobucket
All dressed up and ready to go! I wore my blazer from Charlotte russe, sequined tank also from there. My jeans are BKE, shoes (I know you cant see them but they're nude platforms) from Polish and I found this bag at Tj's I am in love with it! We decided to have dinner a little late so when we got to the restaurant we wanted to eat at called Fire, we were disappointed to find out it was already closed so we had to settle for the buffet which was alright but definitely not worth taking pictures of or recommending.

Photobucket
After dinner we headed to the casino where the alcoholic drinks are free all night! AWESOME! I had a strawberry daiquiri and an Irish cream both were delicious. My favorite slot machine is the sex and the city penny machine so much fun! I lovee playing it because when you get a bonus it plays different scenes from the show and Mr. Big talks to you which makes me smile every time ;)

We finally went up to the room around 1:35 and I was still wired from the Irish coffee and the fact that I had a day at the spa planned later that morning so sleeping was kind of out of the question.
Mom caught me reading my "bible" haha

Photobucket The next morning I woke up around nine had breakfast at the Grill, a vegetarian omelet made with just egg whites and toast and then retreated to the spa :)
PhotobucketTheir spa was absolutely gorgeous! It was only $18 for a whole spa day, that includes all the spa amenities and the pool which I couldn't experience because it would not stop raining but that's not bad at all! Anyways when they took me back, I walked through tall glass doors and into a room with gold bead curtains and olive colored walls. The sitting area was so beautiful, they had bamboo plants everywhere, a relaxing stoned waterfall and comfy white couches with oxblood decorative pillows. I walked through some more glassed doors and found the hot tub with a cold bath as well. It was mosaic walls with candles every where, very luxurious I think the hot tub was my favorite part lol After spending way to much time in the hot tub I went around the corner and found the hallway with the steam room and the sauna both were very zen and relaxing I'm a sucker for a steam room because I love the detoxifying process so I was in heaven! Pictures from left to right; the locker and preparation room, a little room to get ready after your done with your spa experience, the gorgeous sitting area, the hot tub and cold bath room, the hallway with the sauna and steam room. The whole experience was wonderful I felt so relaxed and brand new afterwards and the people were so nice I'll definitely be going back soon!

Photobucket The gift shop had OPI nail polish for sale so I bought the mini set from the Germany Collection, so excited to use these! Colors from left to right; Don't pretzel my buttons, Nein! Nein! Nein! OK fine!, Unfor-greta-bly blue, Suzi and the 7 dusseldorfs.

Photobucket Well I hope you enjoyed this post about my experience at the Wind Creek Hotel and Casino, it was not what I had expected it to be, I was very much surprised and I definitely recommend you guys to check it out and experience it for yourselves if you're ever in the area, especially the spa and pool! The Wind Creek Casino is located halfway between Mobile and Pensacola in Atmore Alabama on 303 Poarch Road. Its really hard to miss its kind of out in the middle of nowhere and you will be able to see it miles away but I guarantee you will enjoy your visit! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have a great week! Talk you you guys again soon :) xoEm

2012 Fall Fashion Trends: They're Bloody Fantastic!

Hey guys! So I know I'm a little late with this but it just wouldn't feel right if I didn't cover and share with you the hottest trends for fall. So with out further a due, here are Fall's hottest trends and my take on them.

TREND # 1: BLOOD HUES

Photobucket
The seasons top trend has our minds swimming in rich bloody hues. The designers drenched the runways with everything from accessories to outerwear in deep reds like oxblood, wine red, burgundy and deep garnet. I am so happy to see this color making a comeback this season because it compliments pretty much every skin tone, hair color, and body shape. It looks great as a handbag as well as a pair of skinny jeans. Its such a sexy eloquent color and I'm so excited to see how everyone sports it this season, I have so many outfit ideas for this one!

TREND #2: DRIPPING IN METALLICS

Photobucket
The runways were also dripping in all kinds of metallics from greens to golds to that top trend color, deep red. Though most of the models were wearing floor length gowns, it was easy to decipher this trend into fall's most coveted party wear. I personally love metallics, it really dresses up any outfit and stands out yet commemorates well with the colors in the neutral group. I am really looking forward to incorporating metallics into my wardrobe this season.

TREND #3: VOLUMINOUS SILHOUETTES

Photobucket Volume was definitely making its arrival on the runway but it wasn't in the form of hair. One of the hottest trends popping up or should I say out on the runways was over sized coats. Now I may love fashion and I may love over sized shirts and sweaters but I will be honest this is one of the trends I will not be adopting to my wardrobe this season. I just don't appreciate the the boxy shape an over sized coat gives your figure. It looks great on a model but lets face it 2/3 of the population is not 5'10 (without heels) with pins for legs but that's just my opinion if you love this trend that's awesome and id love for you to show me how you like to wear it! :)

TREND #4: WHITE ON WHITE

Photobucket Finally we can throw the rulebook out that states you cant wear white after labor day! well almost, models were dressed head to toe in ivory, eggshell, and winter white putting a new twist on white and embracing the monochromatic look in such a crisp and elegant way. I love this trend winter white is such a classic color and hey, we all have something white in our closets so for this trend, shop your closets chances are that cream colored sweater still fits! :)
There are more trends of course but these are the most popular seen on the runway. I hope you find this helpful and if you want a tutorial on how to apply the trends I'll be happy to make one for you guys and please let me know how you plan on wearing the trends or what you think about them! Thanks for reading and I hope everyone has a great weekend! :) xoEm

Long Time No Talk! Some Newsies And Some Oldies..

Hey guys! So i know its been a hot minute since I last posted (seven days I know, I'm bad and I'm sorry) but lately I've just been feeling so tired and uninspired. Why yes, I did just quote a song from My American Heart how awesome of you to notice! Anyways I've been doing a lot of thinking (and even more sleeping) and I've decided to make my blog a little more interactive friendly. So in this post I wanted to share with ya'll my celeb style crushes of the moment and then I'll share a few "what am I wearing" pictures from the past week sound good? :)

Photobucket My all time favorite celeb style icon is hands down KOURTNEY KARDASHIAN. Her taste in clothes is impeccable and I love how versatile her style is. One day she could be sporting a flirty romantic dress with a sassy pair of pumps and then a blazer distressed jeans and flats the next. But regardless of what style shes embracing, she never fails to look trendy and amazing.  A lot of my style and outfits are inspired by her.

Photobucket My second favorite is the adorable and talented REESE WITHERSPOON. I absolutely love her. Her style is so simple and laid back most of the time but she definitely knows how to glam it up on the red carpet. No matter what shes wearing, even if its just a little black dress and flats, her outfits always look pulled together, classy and chic.I always report back to her style when I want something simple and classic.

Photobucket
Another one of my favorites that inspire me and my style is the beautiful JESSICA ALBA. I love how she doesn't try to be trendy, she just is! Every outfit looks like she put a lot of thought into it and like myself, she's a huge fan of layering. Her style is constantly morphing but she always manages to represent who she is no matter what style she's sporting, I love that about her. Well those are a few of my current celeb style inspirations. I'd love to hear about yours and what makes them stand out to you or how you incorporate their style into yours so please write to me and let me know! :)

Now for a couple yours truly candids (what am I wearing pics of the past week) Photobucket

I wore this last Saturday to work. Blazer: charlotte russe, Top: tjmaxx, Leggings: BCBG, Shoes: Gianni Bini

Photobucket

I was running late and didnt have time to take a picture before I left but oh well I love these girls. My dress is from forever and my shoes are from Polish, psst.. Can you tell what the theme of her party was? ;)

Well I guess that concludes this very long  post lol Thank you for reading and please share some of your celeb icons with me I'll be looking forward to it! Have a blessed week everyone! xoEm
